In the Oil & Gas industry it is used for the dehydration of natural gas. It is also used in the manufacture of polyester fiber, PET, polyester resins, antifreeze, brake fluids and the manufacture of alkyd and latex paints; as a wetting agent, as a plasticizing agent and as a heat transfer fluid (thermal fluid).
